65 MILLION YEARS EARLIER


The one who would be known as Prana looked out across the world in deep contemplation. The dinosaurs had been an interesting experiment, and it had worked well.

We had learned that souls incarnated in physical bodies could indeed experience a more fulfilling existence than when we were purely spiritual beings. Having flesh through which to perceive thoughts and feelings in a more tangible way, mortal life was a foray into a whole different realm.

Truth, love, and power were always known to be the three primary principles on which consciousness was based. But to know and to experience are very different things. Only by exercising our free will through a mortal shell could we hope to grow our consciousness beyond the point we had already reached.

As spirit, our existence was more or less a game. Entertaining, yes, but of little consequence. There was nothing to gain or lose, and every event was received with the same level of disregard. When there are no states of contrast, only the same conditions persisting since the beginning of time, there is no room for growth.

But as flesh, life and death was no longer a game. Being attached to mortal bodies that acted as their avatars in the physical plane, souls now had a sense of self that was very real to them. It was all an illusion, of course - we were all still one - but when you experience a sense of "me" and "them" for the first time, you have a different perspective on the global consciousness.
