"It's the idea that the global consciousness can shape physical reality. That thoughts generate vibrations, and the vibrations sent out by many people, when all are focused on the same strong emotions, resonate with each other to create a force that is powerful beyond measure. That's what could have stopped Mrityu, if anything could have. I think it's far too late now, but just to be safe, I had to make sure you didn't get enough people on board with this idea of yours."
Whatever options Tuck had, he felt they were running out fast. Whatever was going to happen to him, it was going to happen soon. He wasn't any good to Morty alive, and he wasn't any good to the world dead.
"Tell me, Dr. Jones," Morty asked, "do you know why you're still alive?"
"Because you want me to join you and be part of the new world," Tuck suggested. He didn't really believe that, but considering what he was facing, anything was worth a shot. Maybe Morty would even consider this idea.
"No, that's not it," Morty said with a laugh. "If you were to see what happens to the world, I have no doubt that you would want to be one of us. But we're very selective about who joins us. We have to be. And nothing personal, Dr. Jones, but you are not one of us."
There goes that idea.
"Dr. Jones, the reason you are still alive is because you can still be of great service to me. You would have been able to do great damage to our cause, if you had been able to organize a massive group of people with powerful intentions to focus all their thoughts on destroying Mrityu. That is no longer a possibility, seeing as how you will never leave this room alive. But as much as you could have hurt us back then by releasing thought vibrations aligned with divine light, you can help us now by doing the opposite."
